SPONSORSHIP SALES – PUTRAJAYA ARMWRESTLING (PAWA)
We’re currently doing sponsorship sales and commercial advice for the Putrajaya Armwrestling Association (PAWA). PAWA is a registered sporting association established under the Sports Development Act 1997 in September 2014. PAWA is also the sole Malaysian armwrestling body recognised by the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) and was awarded the hosting rights for the 37th WAF World Armwrestling Championship 2015, which will take place at Berjaya Times Square from 26 September to 05 October, 2015.
Whilst doing sponsorship sales work, many potential sponsors would immediately ask the kind of media exposure or advertising that they’ll receive upon being a sponsor or partner. Advertisement and a sponsorship are often discussed as the same thing. They are most absolutely NOT. A sponsorship is typically regarded as platform that fosters a stronger and deeper relationship than a simple advertising exchange of value. An advertisement is a singular message placement while sponsorship is an ongoing arrangement.
Moreover, advertising spaces (TV, print, billboard, etc) which are included in the sponsorship inventory increases the cost of the sponsorship / partnership. If potential sponsors wants advertising slots to activate their sponsorship, they should go to a proper advertising agency. Sponsorship is usually a cheaper alternative to advertising.
